Demotech Completes Review of Second Quarter Title Data and Updates 2011 Financial Stability Ratings®
Columbus, Ohio, September 14, 2001: Demotech, Inc. has affirmed most of the Financial Stability Ratings® (FSRs) assigned to Title underwriters based on a review of second quarter 2011 statutory financial information. FSR revisions were made to the following Title underwriters:
- The FSR assigned to New Jersey Title Insurance Company (NAIC# 51187) was withdrawn 7/27/11. This action was taken subsequent to meetings and conversations with management earlier this year. The Company has suspended issuance of new commitments and is focusing on the resolution of defalcations and claims received on issued policies.
FSRs are a leading indicator of the financial stability of Title underwriters and present Demotech’s opinion of the ability of the insurer to meet its insurance related obligations based upon our assessment of financial information. FSRs are not an endorsement of any particular insurer or its products. Insureds and agents need to independently evaluate their relationship with a particular insurer as well as the applicability of that insurer’s products to the needs of the insured or agent.
